In 1936 Clarence Evans got a job on the East coast working for a company building sign cabinets for Neon. His employer was Claude Neon, who had previously invented Neon and was introducing the product to the United States.
In 1960 Donald Evans, son of Clarence Evans started working in a sheet metal apprenticeship program working with heating and air-conditioning. After completing the apprentice program he got a job in California with Nelson Neon and later with Modern Neon. Donald was head of the manufacturing division and often found himself working with the install crews. In 1972 Donald Evans bought a small sign business that had almost everything he needed. Donald sought the help of his father Clarence. Soon after, Donald's sons Dave and Mike started sweeping floors and learning the trade after school. Dave Evans is now managing the Evans Family sign business and hopes to pass it on to his son and daughter some day. From Grandpas techniques and tools to today's methods and modern machinery, Evans Signs and family has stood the test of time.
We are committed to keeping our equipment updated with the latest technology such as the Accu Clinch for automated channel letters, Roland vinyl cutter for making banners and graphics and CNC router for fabricating custom sign faces and letters.
